A dirty piece doesn't just look rough — it changes the taste, restricts airflow and makes every session a little worse than it should be. The good news is that keeping glass clean takes about five minutes a week once you have a routine.
Start with the basics: isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt still beat almost everything for a deep clean. Plug the openings, add salt as an abrasive, shake in short controlled bursts, then rinse thoroughly with warm — not hot — water. Sudden temperature swings are how thick beakers crack.
Between deep cleans, change your water daily and rinse the bowl and downstem after use. Dedicated cleaning caps, brushes and pipe cleaners cost a few dollars and make the whole process faster. We stock all of it, plus non-toxic cleaners if you'd rather skip the alcohol smell.
Two mistakes to stop making: never put glass in the dishwasher, and never set a hot piece down on a cold surface. Use a rolling tray or silicone mat, keep your piece stored upright, and it'll outlast every disposable you own.
Bring your piece by the shop if you're not sure what cleaner is safe for it — we'll tell you straight, even if the answer is a two-dollar bottle.
